Coral reef restoration in maldives
The coral reefs of the Dhaalu Atoll are among the most beautiful underwater spectacles in the world. The reefs completely surround the island with lush vegetation and seas painted a thousand shades of blue, making our luxury beach resort truly enchanting.
THE CHALLENGE
Unfortunately, the reefs are endangered due to threats such as overfishing, pollution, and climate change, just like other reefs around the globe.
THE SOLUTION
A team of resident Marine Biologists at Maagau Dive Center work to grow endangered coral species. The goal is to help boost existing reef habitats and generate new ones. The Center has taken an active part in coral reef restoration by funding regeneration activities and taking more active conservation roles.

TAKING ACTION
Speaking of other initiatives, we sponsor and direct a number of programs and activities designed to educate our guests about coral reef restoration.
